It’s the end of another fantastic week of learning here at HCPS with, as usual, so much going off in and around school.
At the start of the week, children from Mr Hastey’s class visited the Town Hall and got to meet the Mayor. The level of questioning they came up with was very impressive and the comments from the Mayor and his team about the impeccable manners of the children is to be commended.
Mr Fallon and I have spent a lot of time in classrooms this week, and some of the learning has been outstanding. Conversations with children really prove how much they love learning and researching for their topics! Year 3 and 4 children have been looking at how “Vikings” travelled and it was really interesting to hear how they used the stars and Ravens to track land.
Year 6 have been continuing their revision for SATS week that starts on the 9th May. They have all put so much effort into their studying and I am sure that this will definitely pay off. We are also organising the SATS Breakfast morning that week so children can meet in school earlier, have some breakfast and this gives them the opportunity to have some camaraderie with their peers and teachers.
Stars of the week this week have been selected for an array of reasons, their efforts in numeracy and literacy, their attitudes to learning and being role models to others. Well done to you all and enjoy your experience of dining with Mrs Paddock!
Attendance this week has been a little lower than previous weeks at 95.6%, please try and help us to achieve our school target of 96.5%.
I hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend an as ever if you have any issues or concerns or want to share some good news, please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff.
