Well it has been another fantastic week at Hoyland Common Primary School which has included the first visits of the academic year.
Year 3 / 4 visited Barnsley Museum and the Coop exhibition to learn more about the history that ties into their topic “Sell, Sell, Sell!” and next week Year 1 will be visiting Bolsover Castle.
Stars of the week this week have been chosen for a variety of amazing accomplishments – including many of the children for their hard working attitude towards learning, fantastic work in Maths, looking after their peers and some brilliant homework.
It’s not just the children who have been learning this week, today sees all teachers looking at creative approaches to teaching Maths and sharing practice.
After a positive start to the term, Attendance this week was 95.1% which is below the school target of 96.4%. Please look out for the “Attendance Matters” information that will be distributed to all children next week. This highlights the importance of children attending, the schools approach to rewarding positive attendance and how moving forward the school will be challenging poor attendance.
Once again if you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to see a member of school staff.
