We have spent some of our INSET day considering what great learning looks like. We considered brand new learning that we had taken part in, how we felt before, during and afterwards. We related this to how children might feel when they are learning.
We discussed the importance of collaboration, the need for learning to be meaningful, we know that children will engage with learning when it has a purpose and when it is fun! We talked about developing pupils independence and modelling skills so that they can use them in a different context independently. Some in depth discussions took place and staff came up with very similar ideas to our pupils. Pupils had previously talked about great learning being fun, interactive, collaborative, real life and exciting. We related our practice to our school vision:
Developing happy, confident, self motivated learners who enjoy learning and see it as a lifelong adventure.
We are an organisation that strives to facilitate the learning of all it’s members. Today has been about just that!
