It once again has been a busy week at Hoyland Common Primary School. The week has involved the Year 1 phonics screening check, well done to all Year 1 children. It was also the performance of Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Lamp room theatre on Thursday as ever it was a wonderful performance and something to be proud of, well done to you all.
Tuesday saw the KS2 sports day at Dorothy Hyman Athletics Stadium, it was a fantastic afternoon of sporting activities and a big thank you to all those parents who attended.
The stars of the week this week have been selected for a wonderful array of reasons including having a mature and responsible approach to learning, for hard work in literacy and maths, for taking pride and care in your work at all times and for amazing writing. Well done to you all and enjoy dining with the stars.
Attendance this week has been 94.8% let’s have a concerted effort to ensure that attendance in the final 4 weeks of term is as high as possible!
On Monday children will be informed of their teachers for next year ready for transition week on the 29th of June where children will spend the week with their new teacher. All children have been placed in classes to support the ongoing development of their education and I am sure you will support the school with this. You can also come into school that week and meet your child’s new teacher on the 1st July.
As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact myself or one of the HCPS team.

Mrs Kilburn
In spite of the disappointment if EIS letting us down once again, it was a fantastic sports day for the KS2 pupils. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make it happen at such short notice
