Message from Barnsley Public Health service and Barnsley Community Dental Service

We need your help! From September 2014 until June 2015 we will be visiting schools as part of the national dental survey of 5 year old children. We’re asking you to give consent for your child/children to take part in the survey as the results help us to plan better dental services for Barnsley people.

The children taking part will have a simple examination at school from a dentist and assistant who are trained to do this work. The check takes only a few minutes and we will let you know if we find anything wrong.

This check doesn’t replace your normal dentist check-up. You should still take your child/children to visit the dentist as normal.

Letters asking for consent will be sent out after the summer holidays.
