It continues to be hectic at Hoyland Common Primary School even continuing into the last week of term. This week has seen Y6 children get their KS2 SATs results and as ever they have done fantastically well. In Reading 98% of children attained the national expectation of a Level 4 and 56% above national expectation at a level 5. In writing 92% of children attained a Level 4 and 44% a level 5. In Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar 92% of children attained a level 4, with 66% a level 5 and 8% a level 6! And in maths 96% of children attained a L4, 40% a level 5 and 16% a level 6. Well done to you all, all the hard work and effort that you put in has really paid dividends.
In other news pupils from Reception had a fantastic visit to Elsecar-by-the-Sea, and enjoyed Ice creams and a Punch a Judy Show. The final polishing of the end of year show is being put in place ready for performances on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Tickets are still available so don’t miss out! Children received their annual school reports yesterday, thank you for all the positive feedback in relation to these, it really does make all the hard work worthwhile.
This week’s stars of the week were selected for, always trying hard, effort in reading, being polite and kind, having good manners and finally for fantastic Simile writing! Well done to you all and I hope you enjoyed your dining with the stars!
Finally don’t forget to come along to Hoyland Common Primary School Summer Fair tomorrow, the 11th July from 11am to 3pm. There are loads of fantastic activities and stalls, and maybe even your chance to get your own back on Mr Banham in the stocks! As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the Hoyland Common Primary School team.
