Mrs Kilburn, one of the school governors, said she thought we ought to look inside the rucksack for clues about who it might belong to. We did and found some really interesting objects. We found: a map, a pair of binoculars, walking boots, a waterproof jacket, a camping pan and a water bottle. we talked about who might use these things and decided that the owner of the rucksack could be an EXPLORER!

He will need some food to give him energy.
He will need a blanket if he wants to go to sleep.
He might want to buy something so will need some money.
A telephone – so he can ring somebody if he is lost or to use the SAT NAV.

Good ideas Finlay! I think a SAT Nav would be very useful and an explorer would need lots of food to keep up their energy levels. Maybe you could try and find about some explorers, Lily has a friend who is an explorer you could ask her about them.
