It has been an incredibly busy week at Hoyland Common Primary School this week, Children in Y6 and Y2 have been completing the End of Key stage SATs tests. I can honestly say I have never seen a year group apply themselves so well as the Year 6 pupils have this week. They all put everything they had in to every single exam they did and I am incredibly proud of every single one of them. Well done to you all and I am sure you will all get the fantastic results you deserve at the beginning of July.
In other news, Y2 pupils had ‘Zoo Lab’ in on Tuesday with a wide range of animals and creepy crawlies to have a look at and hold to help them for ideas for their writing test, and to top off a busy week for Y2’s this week Mrs Harrison class have visited the library this morning.
Today in School we are having a Williams Syndrome awareness day, to support Lauren, a pupil in Nursery who has this genetic disorder and to help more people understand what the effects of Williams Syndrome are, as part of the day we are all wearing different colours of the rainbow!
Stars of the week this week have been selected for a wide variety of different reasons, from doing amazing writing, working incredibly, and having a great attitude to their learning and for an amazing effort in their SATs. Well done to you all and enjoy dining with the stars.
Attendance this week is 97.0%, let’s keep these good levels of attendance up for the rest of the year! Well done!
Next week is assessment week for Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 a great chance to show off just how much we have learnt over the past term and Friday next week is a whole school puzzle day!
If there is anything about your child’s education you wish to discuss please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the HCPS school team.
