We have been learning about how things were done differently in the olden days. We talked about how we use computers to write down our ideas now and then made our own quills to have a go at writing as it was done in the olden days.

Congratulations to Mrs Harrison, Mrs Crookes and staff for the recent topics under the Banner of ‘Stepping Back in Time’. I personally believe that it is important to retain our heritage and this is what you have done in your classroom. Not only by learning but also by putting in to practice what they have learnt as individuals, for example using the ‘Quill’ an experience the majority of adults has never and will never get the opportunity to do. The group work, in the ‘Lego Challenge’ bringing together ideas and witnessing the finished piece of work and being able to say ‘That Is Ours We Made It’. As you are aware I know the majority of pupils in the class and the two topics ‘The Plague’ and the ‘Great Fire of London’ brought about numerous conversations with them as individuals and groups which I enjoyed. The quality of the photographs and videos were excellent. It has been an education and pleasure to witness their hard work which I am sure they enjoyed, and yourselves as professionals observing the changes taking place in their development. Thank you very much for your kind comments, I’m glad you’re enjoying the topics as much as we are! The children have done some amazing work, and parents and grandparents have contributed greatly to the successes of the Brain Booster tasks. It’s good to know that the children are talking about their learning and enjoying school.
