Over the past couple of weeks in Y5/6 we have been focusing on horror texts, particularly texts which create tension and suspense. This week we have been applying our new skills to some group writing and we have been experimenting with sentence structure, vocabulary and punctuation to create suspense and tension. We have identified that one feature authors use is short sentences to slow down the reader and create a tense atmosphere. After completing our group write we used iMovie to turn our writing into a short picture film applying both our drama and reading skills – our focus for our reading was expression, how do you think we did?
