Well it has been a fantastic year at Hoyland Common Primary School and there are an endless array of things to be celebrated. The first thing to mention this week is the amazing performances by the children in the end of year show the ‘Wizard of Oz’. The children were remarkable and a real credit to the school. I am convinced some of their names will be up in lights on the West End before we know it!

The final day of the year saw the end of year celebration assembly where efforts and achievements in athletics, cricket, football, reading, attendance, SATs and effort awards to name but a few were presented. The Stars of the Year were chosen this year for those children who have shown a real effort in demonstrating the school rules. Well done to you all.

It is a time of year were many people have joined and others are moving on. We wish Miss Hayward and Miss Parkin all the best in their careers at new schools and Miss Redfearn and Miss Austick all the best ready for their maternity leave in September and look forward to their return. Thank you and best wishes to Mrs Peet and finally after 40 years of service at Hoyland Common Primary School Mrs Caddick is starting a well-deserved retirement I am sure you will join me in thanking her for her efforts over all that time.

It is the last day of school at Hoyland Common Primary School for the Class of 2015 and I would like to thank them for everything they having given to the school over the past 7 years. They are a massive credit to themselves and I am sure you will join me in wishing them all the best on their transition to their next phase of education, I am sure they will do us proud.
