The snow today hasn’t stopped the learning at HCPS and children have been as busy as ever throughout school and I have also heard some fabulous singing coming from the hall this morning so I am sure parents of the children in year 3 and 4 will have a real treat next week when the children perform their “Out of this World” performance. And please don’t forget parents evenings next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Year 1 had a visit from Zoo Lab on Wednesday – there were lots of interesting animals to be seen including a giant snail, a rather large snake and a ferret! All the children were extremely brave and had a touch and feel to see the differing textures of all the animals. Sarah explained perfectly about each individual one, and lots of interesting facts were shared.
Thursday saw an array of book characters throughout school – please check the blog to see some of the most imaginative costume ideas I have ever seen, and that was mainly staff!
Children met in assembly in the morning and each class were given a mystery book package and props to use throughout the day and with their teacher they created stories and drawings and other projects to tell their given story in their own words. It was fantastic at the end of the day to wander through school to see the incredible ideas each class had had.
Stars of the week have been selected for a variety of reasons including always trying their best, being kind and sharing with others, fantastic efforts in comprehension and attitudes to learning and some truly exceptional writing. All of these attributes exemplify the school rules and it is great to see children embracing them.
Attendance this week has been an incredible 97%, thank you for all your efforts despite today’s snow.
As ever if you have any queries or concerns or even compliments you would like to share, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the HCPS Team.
