The penultimate week of the academic year has been another fantastic one. Children have had the opportunity to spend time and work with their teachers for the next academic year and Y6 pupils have had a week at their secondary schools. It had been wonderful to see so many children excited about their next year in education. Children also received their Annual Reports on Monday and it was pleasing to receive so many kind and complimentary comments.
On Tuesday we had a visit from the Performing Arts Services’ brass ensemble, who treated us to a magnificent performance of a variety of familiar and less familiar tunes. This morning pupils from Mr Hastey’s class performed a range of topic based songs with actions to the rest of the school and this afternoon children will also be taking part in a rounder’s tournament at Birdwell Primary School. A number of children in the taekwondo club this week also received their first grading in martial arts with Master Siddall.
Stars of the week this week have once again been selected because they have demonstrated something above and beyond, children have been selected for reasons including hard work in transition week, fantastic efforts in reading and writing and having a positive attitude towards their learning.
Attendance this week has been 96.1%, only one week left, let’s make it a good one! Thank you for your efforts throughout the year.
Please don’t forget the Summer Fayre this weekend, fingers crossed for the weather and KS2 sports day at the English Institute Of Sport on Monday and KS1 Sports day on Tuesday.
As ever please do not hesitate to contact school if you wish to discuss anything about your child’s education.
