It has been another fantastic week for the pupils at Hoyland Common Primary. On Tuesday, all the pupils in Y5/6 visited Whitby to conduct market research on their planned seaside businesses. Even on a bit of a rainy day, the children were absolutely fantastic and a real credit to the school. There were so many positive comments from members of the public in relation to how polite and well-mannered the pupils were.

We also said our goodbyes to the Chicks in KS1; the children found it fascinating seeing them form eggs to chirping chicks. A big thank you to Debs from Eggucation for her support.

Today we have celebrated and raised funds for Sports Relief. Both staff and children have come dressed as sports men and women, walked or run the sports relief mile around the playground, and just to keep our energy levels up, we have been selling biscuits, cakes and buns. Thank you for all your contributions for this brilliant cause.

This week’s stars of the week have impressed for a wonderful range of reasons, including putting 100%, for fantastic problem solving in maths, for a great attitude in swimming lessons and for been a kind and helpful member of the class. It has been another good week for attendance this week at 97%, thank you and keep up the good work!
