It has been another fantastic week at Hoyland Common Primary School, a whole host of different activities have happened. On Wednesday we held a Y3/4 rounders match against West Meadows Primary School. If was great to see children from both schools in mixed teams playing sport competitively but in the right spirit. Well done to those involved.

This morning we have taken part in the ‘worlds biggest coffee morning’, in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support, it was fantastic to see so many children, parents, grand parents and members of the local community support such a fantastic cause. Thank you for all the donations of buns and cakes, and an even bigger thank you to Adam and Kerry Bromfield of GIA Coffee for providing such fantastic coffee for the event!

This afternoon Hoyland Common hosted the locality KS2 Cross Country event, it was great to see nearly 100 children from 10 different schools take part in the event on such a wonderful sunny afternoon. A well done to all those who took part and congratulations to the Hoyland Common Boys and Girls teams for winning their events.

Finally this weeks ‘stars of the week’ were presented with their certificates in assembly this afternoon and again children have really impressed with such a wide range of marvellous things, including having incredible attitudes to learning, excellent mental maths skills and for having fantastic manners on a trip to the library. Well done to you all.
Next week will hopefully see Hoyland Common Primary School officially receive its academy status after what has been a long drawn out process and don’t forget to come looking your best on Wednesday for school photos. As always please do speak to me if you have any issues or concerns or your child’s class teacher. Thank you for your continued support.
