As ever it has been a very busy week at HCPS; preparations and rehearsals for the Y5/6 end of year performance of ‘Grease’ are well underway and you are definitely in for a treat, more information about tickets etc. will be with you shortly with performances during the week commencing 30th June.
It would have been part 1 of the Y6 bike ride on Tuesday but unfortunately due to the fantastic British summer time, large parts of the Trans Pennine trail looked more like a river, fingers crossed for Tuesday the 17th and Friday the 20th June. More information will be on its way to Y6 pupils.
Stars of the week this week were selected for a variety of reasons this week and enjoyed their dining with Mrs Pickering. Children were chosen for having fantastic attitudes towards their learning, putting amazing effort in to their assessments and excellent work in design technology to name but a few, well done to you all!
In other news Year 2’s pupils work was moderated by the local authority, they were incredibly impressed by the work produced by the pupils in reading, writing and maths. Well done to all Year 2 pupils and staff! The school also had our triennial Health and Safety Audit this week, and to show it’s not just education we try our best at we scored a fantastic 99%!
Unfortunately we have had to rearrange KS2 sports day. The English Institute of Sport had double booked the venue, however we have managed to rearrange it for the 14th July. We do apologise for any inconvenience but unfortunately it was entirely out of our control.
Attendance this week is 95.3%. As ever I can’t express just how important positive attendance is in relation to your child’s education. If there is anything you do wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the HCPS team.
