We recieved a letter from Wallace and Gromit today. They were having problems with their fridge and sent us a block of ice to save for them. The ice had started to melt! What could we do? What did we find out about the ice? What kind of change was it? Can you think of other reversible and irreversible changes?
To save the ice put it in the freezer for a day or two.

A Broken egg is irreversible not like the block of ice that we got from Wallace and Gromit which can be frozen again.

Chocolate is a reversible change if you melt it and put it in the freezer it will turn back into its normal self.
That’s right Mia. When our chocolate footballs melt we can put them in a cool place to set again.
Yogurt is an irreversible change.

A wax candle is reversible and football and chocolate and ice cream and paper.
We can try this with a candle when we make our Christingles in a few weeks time Mia

I remember that ice turns into water and water turns into steam. Cheese is irreversible and this means it can not go back into what it used to be.
