Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all. It has been a very busy first week back and children have enjoyed finding about their fantastic new topics. Please do go onto your child’s class page to find out what their topic is and have a look at the year group termly newsletters to see what else they will be learning this term.

Already this term we have had visit from the Barnsley Mobile Library Service and the Y1 pupils enjoyed getting on and looking around. We do have an exciting term coming up including the Young Voices performance at Sheffield Arena, residential visits for Year 6 to Thornbridge and Year 4 to Sherwood Forest, and also the culmination of all the pupils’ hard work in their performance of Richard III.

This week has already seen masses of fantastic work and our first Stars of the Week for 2014 have been selected for a wide variety of reasons. Children have been selected for completing fantastic homework over the holidays, having a great attitude on their return after the holidays, hard work in literacy and numeracy to name but a few.

We have continued this term as we finished the last with great attendance, this week’s attendance is 97.2%, well done let’s keep it going!

As ever if you do have any issues or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me and please do comment on the learning that is taking place on your child’s class blog.
