Today we have started reading The War Horse by Michael Morpurgo. We will be using this book to inform our literacy work over the next few weeks.

Miss Crookes
I spent the morning with Mr Hastey’s class reading through the first 2 chapters.
I have never read the book before and I must say I really enjoyed it. I have ordered a copy of the book for myself to read in the next couple of week before my baby comes along!
I love how the book is written from Joey’s perspective. My favourite part so far is the way that Albert befriends Joey and looks after him.
I will keep checking back to see what you think of the other chapters too!

I agree Miss Crookes. We are quite a bit further through the book now and a lot has happened to Joey but I think it is really interesting how Morpurgo has chosen a horse as his narrator for the text.
