As a warm up in our literacy lesson today we have looked at using ‘unfortunately’ as a sentence opener. We looked at the picture below to start off.
Then we had to come up with a suitable second sentence which began with ‘unfortunately’. Here are some of our best ones.
Can you come up with a sentence of your own? Can you make an even better one than the ones posted here?!
unfortunately the hat was too small so when she tried to take it SPLAT black seeds went every were so when her owner came the little kitty said innocently meow and jumped out the window!! 🙂

Unfotunatly the hat was stuck on so the cat coudnt take it off.
Unfortunatly…..sue ate her hat and had stormatch pain the next day
Unfortunatly….Sue had her hat removed by the water melon police for c.t.w a.k.a crualty to watermelons.

Wow year 5/6! We have talked about using unfortunately and luckily to open sentences. I said “Unfortunately Miss Buckley isn’t in Literacy but luckily…” How do you think I ended my sentence?
